NUOVI CITTADINI | EMANUELE MARULLO
Wednesday, September 18th 2019, h. 19
Tram Diogene. Rotonda Corso Regio Parco / Corso Verona, Torino
In autumn 2019 Diogene starts the Nuovi Cittadini (New Citizens) project, a series of public talks presenting the research of artists who have recently chosen to live and work in the city of Turin. The Diogene Tram will welcome the experiences of some “new citizens” through questions and possibilities, choices and resistances; a way to present artists to the city and investigate the delicate relationship between the permanence and mobility of the contemporary artist.
The 18th of September at 7.00 pm Diogene will introduce the first of the New Citizens, the artist Emanuele Marullo.
Born in Catania (IT) in 1989, Marullo chose Turin to continue his studies at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts after earning his three-year course in sculpture in Milan, at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He spent a year on Erasmus in Lyon, France, at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He is currently part of the collective of artists “Bastione”, based in Turin. His practice is variable and constantly redefining, a reaction that starts from the observation of the elements that surround him, looking for, in a playful way, an attempt of form.
